INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS
Methodus welcomes papers (written in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese) in all areas of Modern Philosophy. It also includes works dealing with the reception of ancient and medieval thought by modern philosophers, or the influence these have in contemporary authors. On the contrary, it excludes diffusion, literary, artistic, and theological research, or papers which do not comply with rigorous standards regarding philosophical content and methodology. Contributions will be refereed. Articles should be sent to revista.methodus@gmail.com. Contributors could also ask for further information by writing to the aforementioned E-Mail.
INFORMATION FOR CONTRIBUTORS
1. Contributions. Contributions submitted to the journal are evaluated and selected under a blind-refereeing system. Writings are welcomed if they fall into one of three categories described hereinafter: (i) Articles. They must be limited to 10,000 words (footnotes included). An abstract of 100-150 words and 4-7 keywords, each in English, should accompany the submission. (ii) Discussion Notes. They critically analyse recent interpretations (over the last 10 years) of authors, subjects or problems pertaining to modern philosophy. They must not exceed 5,000 words (footnotes included). (iii) Book Reviews. They are writings of informative character, the extension of which must not exceed 1,500 words. The editors will give priority to Book reviews of texts published no more than 3 years prior to the review in question. 2. Submission. Methodus publishes contributions in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese. The author must attach two documents, in *.doc or *.pdf format, to revista.methodus@gmail.com: one with brief personal data (i.e., name, academic affiliation, contact information), and a second one including the paper, according to the blind-refereeing system. 3. Quotations. If they are to appear in the main text, and do not exceed two lines, they must be placed within the same paragraph with quotation marks. Should they surpass that limit, they should be placed in a separate paragraph, without quotation marks. In each case, it is suggested to write immediately in parenthesis the reference to the author, year of publication, and relevant page(s). 4. References. References to books or articles in the main body of the text or in footnotes must follow this model: author’s last name, his/her first name, year of publication in parentheses, and relevant page(s).
Example: Cassirer, Ernst (1931), pp. 18-24. However, references following the MLA or the HMC norms are also accepted. In case the reference points to an author’s complete works, the name of the edition (italicized), or any commonly-used way of referring to it, should be included. The roman numeral of the corresponding volume (if applicable), and relevant page(s), should follow. For example, in Kant’s case:
Kants Werke IV, pp. 231-4; or: Ak. IV, pp. 231-4.
5. Reference List. The Reference List is mandatory, and must appear at the end, in alphabetical order according to authors’ last name, as presented below:
(i) Books. Author’s last name and his/her first name (separated by a comma), year of publication in parentheses, work title (italicized), editor and/or translator (if any), city, and publisher.
Example: Wolff, Christian (1962, ¹1730), Philosophia prima sive Ontologia, Joannes Ecole (ed.), Darmstadt: Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft. (ii) Articles. Author’s last name and his/her first name (separated by a comma), year of publication in parentheses, work title using quotation marks, name of the journal or book where it was published (italicized), editor and/or translator (if any), number of the journal edition or city, and publisher of the book, and pages.
Examples: Dilthey, Wilhelm (1983), “Aus den Konzepten zum sogennanten «Althoff-Brief»”, in: Texte zur Kritik der historischen Vernunft, edited and introduced by Hans-Ulrich Lessing, Göttingen: Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, pp. 25-34. The editorial committee reserves the right to accept contributions that do not fulfil every of the above mentioned requirements.

Methodus recibe artículos (en inglés, alemán, francés, italiano, español y portugués) sobre cualquier área de filosofía moderna, al igual que considera la inclusión de trabajos que aborden la recepción de la antigüedad o del medioevo en la filosofía moderna o el impacto de la filosofía moderna en la contemporánea. Por el contrario, excluye artículos de difusión, artísticos, literarios, teológicos o que no respondan a los criterios de rigurosidad filosófica en sus contenidos y metodologías. Las contribuciones serán arbitradas. Las contribuciones deberán ser enviados a la siguiente dirección electrónica: revista.methodus@gmail.com . Preguntas ulteriores serán respondidas también por este medio.
GUÍA PARA COLABORADORES 1. Colaboraciones. Los escritos presentados para su publicación serán sometidos al proceso de evaluación y selección, bajo el sistema de referencia ciega, efectuado por el comité evaluador. Las colaboraciones pueden ser de tres tipos: (i) Artículos. Cuya extensión no podrá superar las 10.000 palabras, notas incluidas. Deberá adjuntarse un resumen de 100 a 150 palabras, además de 4 a 7 palabras clave, ambos en inglés. (ii) Notas de Discusión. Escritos que analizan críticamente interpretaciones recientes (últimos 10 años) de autores, temas y problemas de la filosofía moderna. Su extensión no podrá superar las 5.000 palabras, notas incluidas. (iii) Reseñas Bibliográficas. Escritos informativos, cuya extensión no podrá superar las 1.500 palabras. Serán priorizadas las reseñas de libros que no excedan los 3 años desde su fecha de publicación. 2. Sobre la presentación de la colaboración. Methodus acepta colaboraciones en español, inglés, alemán, francés, italiano y portugués. El autor debe enviar dos archivos adjuntos a revista.methodus@gmail.com: en formato *.doc o *.pdf, uno con sus datos personales (nombre completo, filiación académica, dirección de correo electrónico) y otro con el texto redactado bajo el sistema de referencia ciega. 3. Modo de citar. Todas las citas cuya extensión sea de 3 líneas o superior deben ir en párrafo aparte sin comillas; si la cita es de 2 líneas o inferior, debe ir en el cuerpo de texto principal entre comillas dobles. En ambos casos se sugiere colocar de inmediato, entre paréntesis, la referencia al autor, el año de la publicación y las páginas correspondientes. 4. Referencias. Las referencias a libros o artículos dentro del cuerpo del texto principal o a pie de página deben seguir el modelo: apellido y nombre (separados por una coma), año (entre paréntesis) y páginas correspondientes. Ejemplo: Cassirer, Ernst (1931), pp. 18-24. Sin embargo, también se aceptan los modelos de referencia MLA y HMC. En el caso de que se haga referencia a las obras completas de un autor, debe anotarse el nombre que lleva la publicación o el modo usual de referencia, el número romano del volumen (si es necesario) y las páginas correspondientes. Ejemplo: Kants Werke IV, pp. 231-4; o bien: Ak. IV, pp. 231-4. 5. Bibliografía. La Bibliografía es obligatoria y debe estar consignada al final del trabajo, en orden alfabético según el apellido de los autores, del siguiente modo: (i) Libros.
